Priscilla Nathan-Murphy OAEC Chief Arts Consultant

Priscilla is the Principal of the Lower School - Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy. She is originally from Singapore - Trained in classical ballet - Royal Academy of Dancing Syllabi, oriental dance mudras, modern and jazz genres. Ms. Nathan-Murphy has a certification from the Royal Academy of Dance, England in teaching and was accepted into The Royal Academy, Teacher Training College in London, England and has acquired a Teaching Diploma from the British Association of Teachers of Dance.  Ms. Nathan-Murphy has taught creative movement, ballet and modern in the pre-professional and professional division of the Houston Ballet Ben Stevenson Academy since 1985.   She has been a teaching artist with the Texas Institute for Arts in Education, Movement coach for the Houston Grand Opera Studio and held the position of adjunct faculty at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts from 1986 -2006 (20yrs).  She is also a recipient of the National Choreographers Competition, United States award held in Chicago and several Teacher Recognition awards given by the National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts since 1996 and Who’s Who Among American Teachers.  She has choreographed extensively in the United States and recipient of numerous scholarships and awards. Mrs. Nathan-Murphy has conducted numerous master classes and workshops for different art institutions, universities and dance companies within the United States since 1980.  Some of these include - The Juilliard School, The Boston Conservatory, Singapore Ballet Academy, Houston Ballet’s Summer Intensives, Houston Ballet’s Teachers Seminar, University of Oklahoma Fine Arts Department, Regional Dance Association and at the 50th RDA Celebration Festival and Gala, Houston Grand Opera Studio and Houston Grand Opera’s summer children’ workshops, Alley Theatre children’s Summer Workshop University of Houston Dance department, Lou Conte’s dance/Hubbard Street 2 – Chicago, Dance Ad Deum, Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, The Link Centre/Troy Michigan to name a few.  Mrs. Nathan Murphy continues to enhance her skill and educational levels by participating in different course workshops.   Most recently she has been invited to be a Chief Arts Consultant of Orient Arts Education Center with training development, class structure and progression in artistic endeavors as well as hiring of trained teachers specific to classical ballet and modern dance.

普斯拉   東方藝術教育中心藝術顧問          普斯拉是休士頓芭蕾舞團Ben Stevenson舞蹈學院初级学校校長. 她曾於新加坡皇家舞蹈學院專攻古典芭蕾與現代舞,獲英國倫敦皇家舞蹈學院的教學證書。普斯拉曾任教于德州艺术学院, 休士頓大歌剧院, 休士頓演艺高中并任许多著名艺术学校和舞团的客座教授. 在舞蹈编导, 舞蹈比赛, 舞蹈教学方面获得无数国内国际大奖. 普斯拉是東方藝術教育中心特邀藝術顧問,她將為中心提供芭蕾及現代舞師資,設計舞蹈課程與擬定教學計畫。她也將親自教授專家課、參與編舞及策劃演出。
