Misty Chambers  Dance Teacher

Misty  Chambers  has been teaching dance for over 20 years in the Houston and Katy areas and has an extensive background in dance, gymnastics and theater.  Her varied background began in gymnastics as she studied for six years with Neimand's Gymnastics School where she was on their competitive team.  Loving the more dance like qualities of the floor and beam exercises of gymnastics, once in high school she began studying dance first as a member of the drill team where she served as an officer for two years and then by studying under both Sharon Schadt and John Adamson where she gained her formal training and her love for dance and performance.  She is privileged to have subsequently taught for both Sharon and John for over 15 years.

Dance has also led her to an interest in theater, choreography, yoga and interior design.  Theatrical credits include performances in The Producers, Chicago, Seussical the Musical,The King and I, Gypsy, Sweet Charity, Power of Women, Sentimental Journey and two productions of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

Her choreography has been seen in productions at Upstage Theatre, The Country Playhouse Theatre, Wilchester Elementary School, Mayde Creek High School, halftime performances at a Houston Energy game and by the Texas Lutheran College dance team, a dance solo with the Taylor High School Band as well as numerous solo and ensemble drill team competitions where several of her students have placed in national competitions.

Misty received her CYT and RYT200 yoga certification with The Yoga Alliance in the summer of 2012 and has been teaching yoga classes since.
In addition to teaching and choreographing, Misty took a part in redesigning the look for one of the dance schools she was working for.  This led to her receiving a degree in interior design.  For the last ten years in addition to her teaching she has worked as an interior designer.
